How to register

Here's what you need to buy and register for the JAMB form. I've laid it out in the best and recommended way, the way JAMB accepts. Follow these steps carefully to register smoothly and avoid errors.

To successfully register for the JAMB examination, follow these essential steps:

1. Register for your National Identification Number (NIN):

As a student aiming to enroll in the JAMB examination, obtaining a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is your initial task. The JAMB management emphasizes that registration won't be possible without it. If you don't have one yet, head to the nearest NIMC office to obtain your unique NIN. It's crucial to note that using someone else's NIN for your registration is not permitted; each individual must have their own NIN.

2. Create a JAMB Profile:

The next step is to create a JAMB profile. If you're already familiar with this process, you can skip this step. However, if you need guidance, refer to my tutorial on how to create a JAMB profile.

3. Make Payment and Buy Your JAMB Form:

Once your JAMB profile is set up, proceed to any JAMB-accredited procurement outlet (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, or USSD partners) to make the required payment and purchase your JAMB form. Remember to present your profile code during the purchase.

After successfully registering, your form pin (form-ePin) will be sent to you via text message. It's crucial to keep this pin secure as it will be necessary for future verification at the JAMB-accredited center.

4. Complete Your Registration at a JAMB-Accredited Center:

Visit any JAMB-accredited center to finalize your registration. Submit your NIN, profile code, and the e-pin at the registration center. Ensure that your fingerprint is verified successfully; otherwise, your enrollment may be deemed invalid.

5. Print Your Enrollment Slip:

Once your registration is tagged as successful, promptly print out your enrollment slip. It is mandatory to print this slip immediately after registration. Failure to do so may lead to the disqualification of your registration, preventing entry into the examination hall.

It takes about 5 to 10 minutes for it to arrive.

Profile code is normally sent to you at least 5 to 10 minutes after you send an SMS to JAMB. If you didn't get it within this time frame, check that you sent the text message correctly with the provided format. Sometimes it might be due to a network issue or traffic collision, in which case you would have to wait for some time to receive yours. If the issue persists, after you have waited, contact the JAMB officials to help you rectify the issues.
