Do you want to know how to create or update your profile code? If so this post will help you to know how you can do so without stress.

In this tutorial, I am going to show two easy steps you can create or update your JAMB profile. You don't have to be a computer genius or be technically smart with smartphones or computers. I will teach you how to use SMS or email addresses to create or update your profile.

To be honest, if you're a student preparing for the JAMB exam, you need to make a JAMB profile. It's a must for a successful registration. Everyone has to do it. Without your JAMB profile, you won't be able to take the UTME exam, whether it's the main JAMB test or the post-UTME.

Before we delve into that, let's first understand who requires a JAMB profile code.

Do you need a JAMB profile code?

You should create a JAMB profile code if you plan to take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) this year. However, it's unnecessary if you're not yet ready to write the exam. The code is utilized during the examination and needs updating after the presiding exam. Creating it when not needed doesn't make sense; instead, wait for your time.

What is the JAMB profile?

A JAMB profile is an individual account that informs the JAMB board that you are one of the students writing the JAMB examination in the designated year and exam session. It helps them identify you as a candidate and process your information in their database.

What is the JAMB profile code?

The JAMB profile code is a set of 10 unique numbers sent to the candidate after creating a profile account. The code can be sent through email or the phone number associated with your account.

This code is necessary during your registration.

Candidates who use phone numbers for profile registration will receive their code via SMS, while those using email addresses will find it in their mail inbox.

Candidates using both emails and phone numbers will either receive it through email SMS or both.

Requirements to create a JAMB profile.

Below are the basic requirements for a candidate needs to put in place to be able to create the profile.

1. Personal National Identification Number(NIN).

2. A phone number that has not been used for JAMB registration(if you previously registered for JAMB with the phone number, you will need to update your profile. See below how to do that)

4. A valid email address( This is optional if you want to use your phone number)

4. A token of 50 to 200 naira airtime on the sim card you want to use For those who want to use SMS to create their profile and a good smartphone that can access the Internet smoothly for those who want to use an email address to create their own.

How to use SMS to create a JAMB profile code?

SMS stands for Short Message Service and is another name for a text message

Open a message application on your phone type NIN and enter your NIN numbers and send it to 55019 or 66019.

Note: the message application is the one you used to receive SMS and your NIN numbers are the 11 digits on your NIN slip given to you.

Use this format: NIN 01234568890. Send it to 55019 or 66019.

Make sure you have at least 50 naira airtime on the sim otherwise, it won't work

Additionally, Make sure that it is your number and it is registered with your name since it will be needed for the future verification of your E-pin.

After you have correctly followed the steps above, you will receive a response like this:

Your request has been received and is being processed. You will get a response shortly.

The service will cost you N50.

Within five minutes of your message, you will receive a response from the JAMB Porter with a 10-digit number. Keep the number safe and don't display it to anyone even your parents as authorized by the board.
